I know it’s a few weeks overdue, but I would like to introduce you to our little lady, Reagan Cassandra Bilskie.

She was born on December 2 at 6:31 p.m., weighing in at 8 lbs. and  1 oz. and 21 inches long. Within seconds, she became the absolute love of my life. The photo above was her first, taken about 2 minutes after she was born. It’s amazing how much she’s changed since then!

My dear friend, Jamie Vester, took Reagan’s newborn photos (below) and they turned out AMAZING!!! Not that I would expect anything less from her! We went into this photo session thinking it would only take about 2 hours… maybe if Reagan wouldn’t have cried for the first hour and a half. This great shoot took about 4 hours!!! I felt terrible, but Jamie was incredibly patient!

If you want to check out her site (which I highly recommend), just click here!

Finally, after all the hard work, our Little Lady’s nursery is finally complete (well, pretty much).

Here’s a before shot. We essentially used this room as storage. For a period of time we also housed our elliptical in here.

And now for the nursery…

Here is a close up of the wall that I stenciled.

And here is a close up of one of the bumpers that I sewed.

And the rest of the bedding…

Here is here changing area…

Over all, I just love the way the room turned out. Matt’s handy work and my sewing/stenciling skills really paid off!!! Now, all we have to do is wait for our little lady to arrive!!!

As some of you may know, we’re keeping the name of our Little Lady a BIG secret! We decided to have a little fun with it and make a game out of it! We never would have guessed that it would take off the way it has, but let me explain the rules…

Each person is allowed to bet on as many names as they want. However, each name will require a $2 donation. Once a name has been chosen, no one else can bet on that particular name. Pretty simple, huh? Plus, all money that’s collected will be deposited into a college savings account for our little girl, with the winner receiving a percentage of the total amount. The winner will be announce as soon as our little bundle of joy arrives.

Here’s what we have so far…really, not too many open spots left!

Well, I suppose it’s about time to make this bittersweet announcement…

Due to the fact that I am a whopping 36 weeks prego…I’ve decided not to take on any new clients for the spring or summer of 2012 (and perhaps through the entire year). Since TEN:THIRTEEN design is a one woman operation, I’m afraid that I just wouldn’t have the time to devote to my clients. Being a first time mom, I have no idea what’s in store for me, but I do know that I will want to spend as much time with my new bundle of joy as I possibly can.

I will still attempt to blog from time to time (and keep you all updated). I don’t think that my love of being crafty and obsessed with stationery will cease simply because I have a baby! I just need to assess my time and priorities and go from there!

I’ve had so many bride requests lately, and have unfortunately had to turn them all away. So, if you’re a bride looking for someone to help you with your wedding stationery, I would recommend contacting Designs by Victoria (317.896.1060), Westwood Paper Company (westwoodpaper.com) or Oliver’s Twist (www.oliverstwistllc.com). They may be able to assist you with your wedding stationery.
And of course, thanks to all of you who have been so supportive through all of this! You know who you are!!!

Yeah, I’m still pregnant…that’s undeniable now! Looking like I ate a big dinner is a thing of the past. We’ve moved on to a full blown baby bump!

The third trimester is proving to be a bit more challenging than the second (which was pretty smooth sailing). I’ve discovered that I have a pretty *awesome* case of carpal tunnel (note the sarcasm), which has really put a wrench in me working on our little lady’s nursery bedding. Of course, she’s not going to wait on me, so I’m just going to have to find a stick and bite down on it! Hahaha… I’ve also got a little pinched nerve in my back which has been giving me some trouble as well.

That all being said, I wouldn’t give it up for the world. If a little pain is what I have to endure for our little lady…it’s well worth it. Their is an end in sight for the minor aches and pains. So it’s nothing that can’t be dealt with! Quoting one of my favorite movies, “The juice is worth the squeeze.”

It’s been two weeks since my last photo update. As you can tell, I’m a big fan of that maternity shirt (same one from last photo). I can definitely tell that our little lady is “movin’ on up.” I’m starting to carry her a bit higher.

In the past couple of weeks, we’ve hit several exciting mile stones. First, Matt and I purchased Little Lady Bilskie’s crib (and just picked it up a couple days ago). Matt also was able to feel her kick. It was probably one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. His eyes lit up in amazement! Had to snap a few mental photos of that look! We also finalized the wall colors as well as the fabric that I’ll be using to create the nursery bedding. Not only that, last weekend, my mother and I registered for all our fun new baby necessities. Quite overwhelming, but fun none the less. And last but not least, I’ve hit the 6 month mark (well, 24 weeks and 2 days)! I can hardly believe it myself, but she’s going to be here before we know it. Lots more to do…and I’ll be sure to keep you all posted along the way!

I know this is mainly a bridal blog, but if you look at the grand scheme of things…babies are the next natural step! So, despite the fact that this post has nothing to do with weddings, it has everything to do with babies! If you’re like me (pregnant and extremely overwhelmed), then this post may actually be beneficial to you! Of course, if you were hoping for some cute wedding ideas, I would recommend checking back in a day or two… ;)

Now for those of you who need a little brush up on your junior high science, here are the steps for the “famous” scientific method:

  1. Ask a Question
  2. Do Background Research
  3. Construct a Hypothesis
  4. Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
  5. Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
  6. Communicate Your Results
Here’s where my science experiment kicked off….
  1. Which diaper is better, Huggies or Pampers?
  2. While registering for baby gifts with my mom last weekend, I noticed that Babies-R-Us promoted Pampers while Target promoted Huggies. From what I’ve heard, they’re both pretty standard diapers. Of course, you’ll have plenty of moms that say one is better than the other. So who to believe?
  3. I ended up registering for Pampers, thinking that they were the better diaper.
  4. Once I finally had time to go through my goodie bags from Babies-R-Us and Target, I realized that they had both given me a sample diaper. My mom had this brilliant idea to test which one was better. Thus the science experiment commenced!
  5. Right away there was an obvious difference between the two! Within seconds, the Huggies diaper began absorbing the 1/2 of liquid that we poured into it. Where as the Pampers slowly began to absorb and eventually stopped leaving a large puddle.
  6. In order to fully explain the results, we took photos of the two samples. Also, please don’t worry, we used ice tea….I swear, it’s not the real thing (even though it looks grossly similar).
So, in conclusion, I went back to adjust my registry…I’m officially a “Huggies Mom!”

So, as of yesterday, I am officially 22 weeks prgo. However, I feel like I just “popped” over night and actually became prenant! These photos are from Friday morning. I don’t even have to stand side ways for you to see that I’m pregnant! I mean, that’s an official baby bump if I ever saw one!

Just wanted to share this with all of you!

Well, things are moving along smoothly! As of today I am 21 weeks pregnant (a little over 5 months). I’m starting to show…well, let me rephrase that, I’m starting to look pregnant. I was showing before, but it really just looked like I had a big dinner! I’m feeling sooo much better. No longer getting nauseous (which ended around 16 weeks) which is WONDERFUL! Never seemed to get my energy back, but as long as I’m not getting sick, that’s fine with me! And the newest development, I’m feeling our little lady practice her kung fu moves! She’s bouncing all over the place! It’s such a weird but exciting feeling!

We’ve begun searching for nursery furniture and bedding. It’s getting a little frustrating trying to find things I like. I’m contemplating making my own bedding. Could be fun…or…could turn into a nightmare, but I think I’m up to the challenge. Just the first of many “hurdles” I’ll be facing over the remaining 4 or so months….well, lets be honest…for the rest of my life. Which is why I thought this card was perfect! Sums everything up…

So, I came up with this little graphic to announce my pregnancy at work (Butler University). Thought I would share it with all of you. Enjoy!
